Playoffs at Home Against Grapevine

Denton Broncos have made the Team tennis playoffs again, placing # 3 in District 8. We will be playing against # 2 of District 7 Grapevine HS on Tuesday, 10/16. We won the coin toss so we play at Denton HS tennis courts at 4:30 pm.

Boys Challenge Matches Cancelled September 29,2018

The Denton High School Boys Challenge Matches have been cancelled for September 29th  due to rain.

Broncos Bash Bengals in District Action

The Denton High School tennis team claimed another district win this week over Braswell. The Broncos winning 12-7.

The boys won ALL of their matches in both singles and doubles. The girls only managed to scrape 3 very close wins, 1 in doubles and 2 in singles. Almost all of the girls matches were extremely close, with 3 going to 3rd set tiebreakers.

Next up for the the Broncos will be Justin Northwest on September 25 at the DHS Tennis Courts at 4pm.

Bronco Netters Rolling in District 8-5A Play

The DHS Tennis team is off to a great start in district team tennis action this fall.   In a tough close match against The Colony, the Broncos fell 11-8 to the Cougars.   5 of the matches with The Colony went to 3rd set tiebreakers with Cougars winning all 5.  Since then the Broncos have roared back with an 11-8 win over Little Elm and a 14-5 win over Lake Dallas.

There are still 3 district matches remaining to be played with Northwest, Ryan and Braswell.

Revised Schedule Due to Recent Rains

The Bronco Varsity Tennis  Team’s match with Creekview that was originally scheduled to be played on Spetmber 7th has been rescheduled for September 21st at the Bronco Tennis Courts at 3:40pm.

The next round of Challenge Matches are now scheduled for September 15th.  Girls Challenge Matches will be 9am to 1pm at the DHS courts.  The Boys Challenge Matches will be from 3pm to 7pm at Goldfield Tennis Center.

Recap Updates from the week of 9-8-17:

We are very excited to make the play-off again, our players worked hard and are looking forward to face the power house Aledo HS, This match is schedule for Tuesday, 10/17, in a neutral location at Northwest HS tennis courts at 4 pm.

These are our results in the District matches.

We won against:

Braswell HS = 16 to 3 matches
Denison HS = 13 to 6
Ryan HS = 17 to 2

We lost against:

Sherman HS = 10 to 9 matches
Ryder W. F. HS = 13 to 6
W.F. Old High = 15 to 4

RECAP/UPDATES from week of 9-1-17:

We had a week of amazing week of tennis. Both the Varsity and JV teams dominated the Ryan HS team in their first district match this season. The Varsity team’s score was an outstanding 17-2 win and JV had an impressive with a 23-7 win. Noah Villarreal played incredibly strong and fought through for an exciting win! The Varsity team also played Birdville HS Friday evening <x-apple-data-detectors://3> and although DHS lost, it was only by 2 points! We were tied up at 10-10 <x-apple-data-detectors://4> and the last two matches went to a 3rd set tie break! All very exciting and we witnessed some amazing tennis against Birdville. Madi Gunn was player of the evening with some very impressive cross-court wins!
